2013 Hacker’s Hill Climb – A Challenging and Scenic Run to Benefit Loon Echo Land Trust
Join Loon Echo Land Trust and partake in the 2nd Annual Hacker’s Hill Climb, a challenging four-mile run or walk to benefit the ongoing stewardship of the Hill. This scenic run will take place on Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. with registration at 5:30 p.m. Cost to participants is $20/adults and $15/under 18.
“The views offered by Hacker’s Hill, especially during sunset, will keep participants striding uphill to reach their goal,” stated Event Manager, Carol Meader. “Although the course is challenging, the reward of some of the best views in Maine upon completion make it an amazing route.”
Runners will park atop the Hill and will be shuttled to the starting line near Route 302 by the Blacksmith’s Winery. The course is an undulating scenic run along Quaker Ridge Road ending with the short, steep rise up Hacker’s Hill. Two water stops will be provided along the course and refreshments and prizes will be available at the finish line. Runners will not find a more beautiful finish line at any other race.
