Governor LePage to Release LMF Funds

After a 145-0 vote in the House and a 34-0 vote in the Senate the LMF program appears to be back on track despite previous opposition by Gov. LePage.  At the end of 2015 LePage agreed to release 5 million in bonds which were approved for LMF use in 2012.  The House and Senate agreed to reissue all 6.5 million allocated.  This positive step will enable around 30 various projects across the state, including Loon Echo’s Raymond Community Forest Project, to get back on track after many were delayed or stalled until a decision regarding funds could be made.  Thank you to all those who have supported this special program to promote conservation across the state!  To read a recent article about the status of the LMF, click here.
